The hexTraffic resource provides information on both a high, overall level as well as a detailed level on the current and past states of a service provider’s network and serves a range of purposes.
And the hexTraffic solution provides a wealth of crucial information on a range of key tasks and operations:
The hexTraffic solution defines a multitude of aggregated tables (so-called Data Domains) that assemble only relevant and meaningful combinations of analytical dimensions. This produces small tables that can be accessed by ad-hoc queries for further aggregated records to obtain the required view. Also, only one level of aggregation is pre-calculated, saving space in the database.
Data Domains allow users to focus more easily on those specific views required in their work, such as technical overviews, monitoring of services, line loads and similar.
HexTraffic Analytical Reporting provides users with actionable information. Because a system without good monitoring and a facility for analyses is of little use.
The Reporting Module is used to create new ad-hoc reports, while Dashboards are used to configure and display report groups. Further, reports can be drilled-down to the level of a single transaction.
The monitor dashboard presents KPIs in near real-time, which are automatically refreshed from the database, and can be easily re-defined by the operator according to his needs.
The OLAP query-definition mode allows users to select measures, groups, filters and generate an XML-query that can be executed against the traffic OLAP engine to search for matching results in an OLAP-based data warehouse, in order to build a report. Ad-hoc reports can be prepared through the report builder; and reports can be generated automatically or on demand.
Reports can be organized on integrated dashboards that can be shared with defined user groups. User dashboards allow threshold management of selected measures and can be easily shared by email.
